Samantha Harris, born Samantha Walker, is a native Floridian born in Orlando and was always a bit of a tomboy, preferring climbing trees and getting dirty to wearing dresses. After moving away, she came back to Florida at age 11, which was a difficult time for her. She was shy, homesick for her friends and had a difficult time transitioning to a new school. She became withdrawn and her self-esteem and school grades suffered badly. And then…she found flag football. Her life changed forever.

Being the only girl “allowed” to play football with the boys in California, Sam was a natural. She loved it and seemed to spend every waking moment practicing. As a result of doing something she loved, her life turned around. She became confident, made many friends and received an award in school for being the student with the most improved grades. Sam experienced first hand what sports can do for a person.

Learning teamwork and discipline while having fun taught her leadership and life skills. Now, she wants to help other girls and young women do the same. Sam married her high school sweetheart Chris Harris, and they have two beautiful children, Parker and Walker.
