Tammi F. Garrett
Executive Director
Tammi F. Garrett recently stepped into the role of Executive Director of the Florida Commission on the Status of Women, bringing 21 years of public service experience with her. Throughout her career in state government, she has focused on one thing: helping vulnerable populations grow stronger and more connected, streamlining local resources, and driving change people can see and feel.
Outside of her government work, Tammi has spent 20 years as an event consultant in the private sector, turning complicated logistics into gatherings that people genuinely want to attend.
She’s earned degrees and certifications from four colleges and universities, including a Bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and a Master’s degree from Troy University.
As she steps into this new role, Tammi brings a mix of empathy-driven leadership and organizational precision, with a clear goal of making sure every program and event leaves people feeling seen, informed, and celebrated.
In her own words: “My goal is simple: to run programs and events that celebrate the hard work and dedication of everyday people, their willingness to learn, lead and show up for their communities. Let’s clap for each other.”
Kimberly Mehr
Operations Coordinator
Kimberly Mehr has been a dedicated team member of the Florida Commission on the Status of Women since 2008, rising to the role of Operations Coordinator in 2018. She is instrumental in managing the Commission’s daily functions and ensuring the seamless execution of its mission to advance women’s issues across the state. With a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Florida State University, Kimberly brings unique technical knowledge and organizational expertise to her work.
Beyond her professional contributions, she is a committed community leader who has served on the Board of Directors of the Tallahassee Fast Pitch Softball Association for many years. Known for her volunteerism, Kimberly actively contributes to various organizations and local schools, championing causes close to her heart and positively impacting her community through service and mentorship.
