Heidi Schaeffer

Boynton Beach

Heidi Schaeffer (Boynton Beach) graduated as valedictorian of her college, earning dual bachelor’s degrees in biology and psychology. She earned her MD Degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. As a medical student, she was elected Ethics Representative for her class. Her Residency was completed at Jackson Memorial Medical Center and was chosen by her peers to be their designated Union Representative. Dr. Schaeffer has been licensed in Florida since 2000, and currently serves on faculty at the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies. She is also a Clinical Affiliate Assistant Professor at Florida Atlantic University’s College of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Schaeffer is a long-standing Board member of Nova Southeastern University’s College of Healthcare Sciences. Dr. Schaeffer is the proud mother of Baron, her 15-year-old son. She loudly advocates for the protection of all children and is a valued member of Place of Hope’s Leadership Council. She collaborates with Child Net, the State’s lead agency for managing foster care and has served on the Care for Kids Lunche on Committee for six years. Dr. Schaeffer has served on the Board of Directors at Temple Torah Emet, where she was active in the Temple’s Child Education Committee.

The goal of this study is to identify key issues facing women, understand critical needs women and their communities perceive as important, build trust with constituents, and highlight the diverse viewpoints of all segments of the population from across the state.
