April Cobb, M.B.A. (Tampa) is a dynamic education leader with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of South Florida and a Master’s in Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resources from the University of Phoenix. Equipped with Florida teaching certificates in Middle Grades Integrated Curriculum and Prekindergarten / Primary Education, along with multiple leadership certifications, April brings over two decades of impact as a veteran teacher in Hillsborough County Public Schools. Her tenure includes a distinguished role as a 6th-grade math teacher at a Transformation Network school, where she excelled at fostering academic growth through cultural awareness and meaningful student connections. Recently, April was selected as one of only fifteen Community Resource Teachers across Hillsborough County, a testament to her expertise and dedication. April’s commitment to youth extends beyond the classroom. Every summer, she directs the East Tampa Brain Booster Camp, a free program serving youth from high-risk communities. Through this initiative, she provides enriching, experiential field trips, including visits to the state Capitol to meet with representatives and senators, and to the Kennedy Space Center, offering safe and transformative experiences outside their everyday environment. She also leads a free mentorship program, Blueprint4Girls, which supports young women with a focus on mental health wellness and personal hygiene, actively gathering donations to supply menstrual products. April’s work in education and mentorship empowers youth to thrive, breaking barriers and inspiring futures filled with promise.
