Sponsored by the Florida Commission on the Status of Women, the Florida Women’s History video contest serves to celebrate women’s history and to increase awareness of the contributions made by Florida women, past and present. Celebrating women’s history presents the opportunity to honor and recount stories of our ancestors’ talents, sacrifices, and commitments and inspire today’s generations. Learning about our past allows us to build a future.

To celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary, the Florida Commission on the Status of Women invites high school students to create a 30-second public service announcement highlighting the theme “250 Years of American Impact: Florida Women Who Shaped America.” Students are encouraged to showcase the accomplishments of a Florida woman whose contributions have made a meaningful impact on her community, our state, or the nation.
