Jennifer Guy-Hudson, of Tallahassee, was appointed to the Commission in 2023 by Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives Paul Renner. Jennifer serves as a Committee Attorney in the Florida House, focused in the areas of healthcare, education, and water policy.Prior to joining the Florida House in 2019, she worked for ten years in healthcare having practiced as in-house counsel to a large health insurer and as the state policy director for a national patient advocacy organization. Jennifer worked for the Florida House for then-Speaker Marco Rubio as Healthcare Committee staff. She also served as Legislative Affairs staff at the Office of Management and Budget for the administration of President George W. Bush.

Jennifer currently serves as the Immediate Past Chair of the Florida State University College of Fine Arts Dean’s Advisory Council. She previously served two terms as a board member for the FSU Alumni Association including several years as a member of the Executive Committee. Other previous service includes Chair of the March of Dimes, Florida Chapter Board and Chair of the Health Care Committee for the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of Seminole Boosters and supports the Softball and Soccer Coaches Clubs.

Jennifer received her bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and her law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida.
