Jennifer Guy-Hudson, of Tallahassee, was appointed to the Commission in 2023 by Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives Paul Renner. Ms. Guy-Hudson is a Deputy Staff Director for the Appropriations Committee for Florida House, focused in the areas of health care and education. She previously served as the Committee Attorney for the Education & Employment Committee. Prior to joining the Florida House in 2019, Ms. Guy-Hudson worked for ten years in health care having practiced as in-house counsel to a large health insurer and as the state policy director for a national patient advocacy organization. Ms. Guy-Hudson previously worked for the Florida House under then-Speaker Marco Rubio as Health Care Committee staff. She also served as Legislative Affairs staff at the Office of Management and Budget for the administration of President George W. Bush
Ms. Guy-Hudson currently serves as the Immediate Past Chair of the Florida State University College of Fine Arts Dean’s Advisory Council. She previously served two terms as a board member for the FSU Alumni Association including several years as a member of the Executive Committee. Other previous service includes Chair of the March of Dimes, Florida Chapter Board, Chair of the Health Care Committee for the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce and leadership roles for the Tallahassee and Miami Federalist Society Chapters. She is a Lifetime member of the FSU Alumni Association and a member of Seminole Boosters as well as the Softball Coaches Club.
Ms. Guy-Hudson received her bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and her law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida.
