Tallahassee, FL (September 6, 2019) — Wanting to be responsive to the specific concerns and needs of women in Florida, the Florida Commission on the Status of Women asks women to share about the challenges they encounter in their everyday lives through the 2019 Voices of Florida Women Online Survey. Available through November 30, 2019, they survey coincides with the 2019 Voices of Florida Women Listening Tour. The survey asks Florida women to select from a list of predefined issues that they believe affect women in their community as well as issues that affect them personally.
The data collected in both the community conversations and the survey, will be compiled into a report that will describe what is learned about the needs of women and girls – from the Western Panhandle to the Key West. The Commission will share the collective data with local, state, and national leaders, and focus our future educational and collaborative efforts on the issues that matter most to women in Florida. Other Women’s Commissions from across the country are hosting similar initiatives this year and will share the results with the National Association of Women’s Commissions to create a broader report – Voices of American Women, to be published in 2020.
