The Florida Commission on the Status of Women (FCSW) is taking its annual LEAD Summit to a virtual platform on March 23 – 25, 2021.
“Women Leading in the Next 100 Years”
2020 gave us many challenges, but it also gave us the opportunity to celebrate the Women’s Suffrage Centennial. One hundred years ago in 1920, the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified, granting women the right to vote. The passage of this amendment was the culmination of a movement that took decades to realize.
This historic milestone caused us to reflect on the progress women have made this century and rededicate ourselves to the pursuit of full equality for women and girls. We continue to build on the legacy of countless women, celebrated or anonymous, who have contributed so much to the strength and spirit of our country.
The 2021 LEAD Summit will inspire and equip women leaders from across Florida to be at the forefront of leadership in their communities for the next 100 years. The annual summit brings together women from across Florida to learn about how to engage with the Florida Legislature and navigate the legislative process. 2021 will be no different, just held online rather than in person. Attendees can hear presenters, discuss topics important to women, and better understand how to strengthen their local community, and by extension the State of Florida. This non-partisan, educational event was held online in 2021.
