Abby Bean

Commissioner Abby Bean is the Executive Director of the Nassau Education Foundation, helping connect needed resources from the local community with teachers, classrooms, and students in Nassau County. A native of Clay County, Abby has lived in Fernandina Beach since 1992 with her husband, State Senator Aaron Bean.  A good part of her adult life was spent working at home, raising three sons, and volunteering in the community.  Abby managed the family business of a Putt-Putt Golf Course for several years, and now runs the High Energy Auction Company, an auction, and entertainment business. She has also managed several successful political campaigns.  Abby is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Healing Hands, the non-profit support arm of the First Coast Child Protection Team, as well as a member of the Community Advisory Board of CPT, a multidisciplinary team that responds to child abuse and neglect cases in an eight-county area of Northeast Florida.  Abby graduated from Jacksonville University with a Bachelors’s degree in History and Humanities. She was appointed to the Commission in 2021 by Senate President Wilton Simpson.
