Tallahassee, FL – Nominations for the 2018 Spirit of Community Awards (formerly the FCSW Achievement Awards) are now being accepted through August 17, 2018, by the Florida Commission on the Status of Women. The newly named Spirit of Community Award recognizes meritorious women and men who have improved the lives of women of Florida and have served as positive role models for women and girls in their community. Recipients of the Award will be honored during the Commission’s 4th Quarterly meeting to be held in November 2018 in Tampa, FL.
Nominees may be recognized for outstanding achievement from a wide variety of areas including but not limited to: arts, business, education, government, entrepreneurial leader, science (STEM), hometown hero, healthcare, sports, environment, and “one-to-watch” (up and coming youth leader—24 and under).
“The Florida Commission on the Status of Women recognizes and supports women of all ages as they strive to achieve their fullest potential,” said Lady Dhyana Ziegler, Ph.D., DCJ, Commission Chair. “We are proud to honor outstanding individuals for their tremendous achievements and dedicated service to their communities.”
